We have used these since her first heat. The original two we got still look and perform like new. That means each one has been hand washed over a hundred times. They work great still. We ordered more as she is a bit older and discharge has increased. We still leave her panty free during the day but we also wipe up after her at times. At night she sleeps with us and to protect us and the bedding she wear these very comfortably, if fact she looks forward to the nightly ritual and proudly wears her diaper and if you will, seems to like to show them off. That's the dogs opinion, not necessarily our, although they are quite cute on her. She has never once indicated she doesn't like them but instead loves them. We concur, we love them too.
